Waterford Ballooning Club

There was such enthusiasm expressed by people for ballooning after the visit to Waterford of many Hot Air balloons during the Tall Ships race in 2005 that a club was formed.

Members of the club enjoy participation in the whole activity of balloon flying as crew in preparation and retrieving and of course flying over the city of Waterford and in the South Kilkenny area. The club attends, many event around the country during each year which add to the enjoyment of the whole activity.

Oliver Lupton, secretary of the club, has almost completed the necessary requirements for his licence and with upcoming changes in EU legislation it is hoped that training will become a greater feature of the club.
